标题:Rap tune goes viral on the web

A fun and easy rap song about Expo volunteers has become an Internet sensation.

Created by five college students from Shanghai Normal University, the song combines Mandarin, Shanghai dialect and English. The tune has received a big thumbs-up among university students, especially volunteers.

"The Expo has been a trendy topic among my schoolmates," said one of the song's writers Zhao Yiteng. "We thought maybe we could do something for my buddies who are working hard under the scorching sunshine at the Expo."

Almost 10,000 students, nearly half of the total student body at Shanghai Normal University, are volunteering for the Expo.

"Although we are not volunteers, everybody seems to be talking about the Expo and it's really popular on campus now," said Ma Chengshun, who sings the most popular verse in colloquial Shanghai dialect.

The song, made on Ma's computer with software, became a hit after it was uploaded onto the Internet, receiving millions of clicks and positive comments from residents.

"We did it just for fun and didn't expect it to become something really big," Ma said.

The university is going to provide a recording studio for the guys to record a better version of the song and it will also become the school's "Volunteers' Song."

"The students bring their musical talent and enthusiasm for the Expo into full play through this song," said Xu Junlu, the deputy secretary of the university's youth league committee. "The school will definitely support them."
